Holly Manor to Pay $75K for Discriminating Against Job Applicant
Nursing home allegedly rescinded job offer from deaf man, report says.

Mendham’s popular nursing home has settled a lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and will pay $75,000 for allegedly hiring a job applicant earlier this year, then rescinding the offer because he is deaf.
According to dailyrecord.com, the nursing home interviewed Stefan Denisluk for a dietary aide/assistant cook position and subsequently hired him. A few weeks later, however, Denisluk was required to interview with a different set of managers who questioned his ability to communicate with colleagues, the report said.
At that point, the application was rejected because of Denisluk’s hearing impairment, the report said.
