Icy Roads Force 2-Hour Delayed Opening for Local Schools

Icy roads have forced all schools in the Chester, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, and West Morris Regional school districts to operate on a two-hour delayed opening scheduled Tuesday.

Schools made their decision around 5 a.m. Tuesday. The rain and ice mixture coating roads overnight comes as no surprise after a nor’easter was projected for mid-week by the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to rise Tuesday as the precipitation becomes mainly rain, but could become heavy, wet snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.
