Internet Exchange Safe Zone Introduced In Chester
Residents can carry out eBay or Craigslist transactions with an extra layer of security now.
CHESTER, NJ — The Chester Police have established an internet exchange safe zone to help residents safely carry out eBay or Craigslist transactions.
The safe zone, established in front of the Municipal Building parking lot on the far left, is marked by a green sign. It is monitored by 24 hour video surveillance "to promote safety in offline transactions and to deter criminal intent and activity," Chester police wrote on Facebook.
As online bartering has become more popular, townships and police departments have begin established these so-called safe zones to prevent incidents when strangers meet up.
