Longtime Chester Nurse, Grandmother of 7 Dies at 77
Eileen Salamon passed away after succumbing to cancer.

Eileen Salamon spent much of her professional life caring for others.
The registered nurse died after a battle with cancer at the age of 77, according to her obituary.
Salamon lived in Long Valley for 27 years before retiring to North Fort Myers, Florida. She was born in Jersey City and graduated the Academy of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station and nursing school at Jersey City Medical Center.

She was a registered nurse at Glenlora Nursing Home in Chester and also worked at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains for 12 years during her professional career.
Salamon was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Mountain Church as well. She enjoyed drawing, painting and swimming.

She is survived by three sons and seven grandchildren.
A celebration of Salamon’s life will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home on Rt. 206 in Chester.
