Longtime Mendham Resident, Insurance Co. President Dies at 80

Both professionally and personally, Robert Laughlin was a successful man.

The president of Sondheim & Laughlin, Inc. died last week at Morristown Medical Center at the age of 80, according to his obituary.

Laughlin joined the company in 1955 and retired in 2003 when the company was sold to Hub International.

Prior to moving to Mendham Borough in 1978, Laughlin lived in Manalapan Township where he was appointed township treasurer and elected township clerk, and was appointed to the township committee.

Laughlin is survived by his wife, Constance, a daughter, and grandson.
