Longtime Mendham Resident, Pastime Club Member, Youth Coach Dies at 82

Thomas Beairsto battled Parkinson's disease for a decade.

Thomas Beairsto was known around Mendham for a variety of reasons, none less than another, as his contributions to the town were immense.

The 30-year Mendham resident died in his Clearwater, Florida home on July 17 after a 10-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, according to his obituary. 

While living locally Beairsto had a successful 35-year career in private wealth management, much of his time spent with Merrill Lynch in Morristown.

Outside of work, Beairsto was omnipresent in Mendham, as a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the Mendham Pastime Club, and as a coach for the Mendham Patriots football team and little league teams.

He was also a member of the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club, among others, and had an immense passion for the game of golf.

Beairsto is survived by his wife, Lois, of 52 years, and four children and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home on Aug. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a memorial mass on Aug. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. Memorial donations can be made to Sisters of the Good Shepherd, P.O. Box 300, 160 Conover Road, Wickatunk, New Jersey 07765.
