LOOK: First 'Food Fest' Fills Streets, Bellies in Chester
Three winners named in separate categories at inaugural event.
It was a throw down of epic food proportions in Chester Borough Saturday, as chefs from the area competed for crowns in three “Best Of” categories at the Historic Chester Business Association’s first-ever Food Fest.
A total of eight chefs created 15 dishes to the delight of hundreds of eaters. The crowd grew so rapidly that ticket sales were stopped at 2 p.m. despite an afternoon-long event.

- Best Appetizer went to Redwoods, with Black Horse Tavern as runner-up.
- Best Entrée went to Fresco Mexican, with Redwoods as runner-up.
- Best Dessert went to J. Emanuel Chocolatier with Black Horse Tavern as runner-up.
The next Food Fest event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, with crowns sought in soups and chili categories.
