Meeting the Needs of Every Student, Every Day
The Mendham Township School District believes in providing a strong foundation as early as possible in each child's learning process.

The importance of providing customized support for students with special needs from a very early age is an imperative for the Mendham Township Elementary School. The school has an on-site integrated pre-school program for children aged between three and five. The preschool program differentiates itself by having three integrated Pre-School classes and a dedicated Pre-School Disabled (PSD) classroom. This structure allows for small class sizes which are further supplemented with an array of resources to meet the needs of each student. Academic instruction may be in a small group or individual setting, and further support can be provided through physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language services. The focus is to provide a rich and engaging academic program while supporting the emotional, social and physical development of young children.
Sara Bresky is the teacher for the PSD class. Ms. Bresky is known for creating an encouraging and safe environment where students participate in the process of learning, build their self-esteem, and learn to develop emotionally and socially as they prepare for kindergarten and beyond. Ms. Bresky’s professional experience and rigorous educational training enhance the learning experience for each of her students. Opportunities for collaborating with peers and inclusion with other pre-school classes are coordinated frequently to help promote social and emotional learning. This approach not only improves each student’s educational performance, but also enhances their life skills through appropriate involvement with their peers at school and participation within the community. In recognition of Ms. Bresky’s contribution to the school, she recently received the District’s RAVE Award which was established to recognize individuals who make an exceptional and positive contribution to educating and encouraging students.

Robert Koroski, Director of Special Services at Mendham Township Elementary School, believes that by having highly qualified staff and a structured program at the Pre-School level, the necessary building blocks are put in place early to support children with special needs. This helps optimize their immediate and long-term educational experience and overall participation in the local community. As a result of these services being provided within the school, every student, no matter what their needs, is receiving the best education, every day.
