Memorial Golf Outing to Support Senior Resource Center

Fourth annual Patricia G. Durkin event will be held Sept. 30 in Long Valley.

Patricia Durkin spent her years serving the community and those around her in need.

The former Chester resident raised seven children while hosting others from the Fresh Air Fund and helped established the Chester Food Bank. She was also instrumental in the founding of the Chester Senior Resource Center.

Durkin, unfortunately, lost her battle with Sarcoidosis on Oct. 2, 2009.

In her name, however, her initiatives will live on.

On Monday, Sept. 30, the fourth Annual Patricia G. Durkin Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Long Valley’s Black Oak Golf Club to raise money for the Senior Resource Center and American Lung Association.

Single players can take the course for $170 or a foursome can join for $600. There will be multiple contests, prizes and giveaways in the event as well. The event’s lunch will be catered by Redwoods and tee time is set for noon. Registration begins at 11 a.m.
