Mendham Business Owner, Great Grandmother Dies at 93

Eileen Morris watched Mendham Township grow and change into the beautiful place it is now over the last half century.

The longtime resident died in her home recently at the age of 93.

Morris, who moved to Mendham Township in 1959, was co-owner of the Joseph D. Morris Agency in Mendham for 30 years from 1966 to 1996.

Morris gave her time to many organizations as a volunteer for Morristown Memorial Hospital and at St. Joseph’s School during its formative years. She was also a member of the Mendham Women’s Club and Mendham Golf and Tennis Club.

Morris is survived by her daughter and two grandsons.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Mendham on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to St. Joseph’s School, 6 New Street, Mendham, NJ 07945.
