Mendham, Chester Students Star In Spelling Bee

MENDHAM, NJ - In the end, there could be only one. And the winner of the West Morris Junior Women’s Club 25th Annual Spelling Bee was Sienna Shieh.

Shieh is a fourth grade student in Lisa Lombardo’s Owl Class in Mendham Township Elementary School. Thirty-two gifted spellers from 4th and 5th grades across the Chester-Mendham area had an opportunity to showcase their spelling skills at the Spelling Bee event which took place on Saturday, Jan. 4.

The winners of the WMJWC 25th Annual Spelling Bee:

• 1st Place: Sienna Shieh, 4th grade
• 2nd Place: Neil Chopra, 5th grade
• 3rd Place: Denis Nunan, 5th grade

These accomplished spellers will advance to represent West Morris in the District Spelling Bee of the New Jersey Federation of Women's Clubs in February.
