Mendham Downs Roxbury for Another Shutout Win

Minutemen hockey, ranked No. 20, beats out No. 19 Roxbury Saturday.

In its first game against the Roxbury Gaels since beating the Morris County team for the 2013 Halvorsen Cup, the Mendham Minutemen were faced with a tall order against the Star Ledger-ranked number 19 squad.

To say the red and white were up to the challenge would be an understatement.

Fresh off a 7-0 shutout victory against West Morris Central on Thursday night, Minutemen goalie Dylan Euvino was a brick wall yet again, making 18 saves for another shutout. Mendham, ranked 20th in that same list, took down the Gaels 3-0 Saturday night, according to nj.com.

Mendham spread the wealth, as Grant Jozefek, Matt Farina, and Matt Lavalette each scored. Paul Michura assisted on each of the scores, the report said.

The Minutemen are now 11-2-2 on the season. Mendham will host Point Pleasant on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Mennen Arena.
