Mendham H.S.'s Food Drive Hits 2-Minute Warning
Service Club's record-setting drive for the Chester Food Pantry closes after the Superbowl.

The clock is running down. The Mendham High School's Service Club's annual food drive in support of the Chester Food Pantry ends midnight after the Superbowl so residents interested in pitching in have little time left to get in the game.
At the end of the school day on Feb. 3 the traditional drive ended in the school, but the inclusion of an online component has extended the donation window through the weekend.
"This was our largest drive ever," said teacher and club advisor Russ Raffay. "We are splitting 90% of our donations with the Chester Food Pantry and 10% with St. Michaels which also serves members of our community."

Even with the tally setting a new standard, Raffay is hoping the last minute drive to the endzone pays off online. "Our donation now is around $7,000," Raffay said. "But the drive continues through Sunday night."
