Mendham High School to Re-Open Thursday
Central and Mendham divide as conditions more favorable for Mendham students to return to class.

West Morris Regional Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast said in a statement school will resume in Mendham on Thursday:
Dear Mendham High School Parents,
Although conditions are improving, some roads are impassable in Mendham Township and even more in Chester Township. Of the wires which are down, several remain electrified and dangerous. Please remember, although your street may be restored, unsafe conditions persist throughout the four towns that comprise Mendham High School. While some busing routes are currently compromised we are making adjustments to optimize safety.
Additionally, the most current weather report forecasts another event starting tomorrow with 30-45 miles per hour winds, rain, snow, and sleet all likely. As a result, Mendham High School is closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 7. However, district faculty will be in school for curriculum development which enables us to recover a half-day of instruction later in the month.
Please note, Mendham High School will have a delayed-opening on Thursday, Nov. 8 and a full day school session on Friday, Nov. 9. We will provide further communication tomorrow regarding alternate bus routes and student driving criteria. Please communicate with neighbors and friends as carpooling will substantially assist the efforts of public works, utility companies, and police.
Students will not be penalized for being absent on Thursday and Friday if parents feel it is unsafe to travel or if families have been displaced out of town.
I would like to personally thank our local police and public works departments for their outstanding vigilance and communication. I am also grateful for everyone's patience and understanding.Mackey Pendergrast
