Mendham Pediatrician Passes Away

MENDHAM, NJ — Obituary provided by Bailey Funeral Home:

David E. Knoop, MD of Mendham passed away on Jan. 11, 2018. He was 81.

The family will receive those wishing to pay their respects on Saturday, Feb 3, 2018, from 10am until 1pm(with remarks at 12:30) at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd. Mendham www.baileyfuneral.com

Born in Minneola, New York, David graduated from Summit High School in 1954. He received a BA from Harvard University and a Medical Degree from Yale University. His pediatric practice was located in Mendham for over 35 years (1967 - 2005). David attended college via an ROTC scholarship and served in the military at Fort Worth, Texas and West Point as a base physician prior to establishing his practice. He was an amateur inventor, woodworker, "gentleman farmer" and collector of antique cast iron toys.

He is survived by his wife, Venice, of Mendham, four sons, Thomas and his wife, Laura Lovett, Michael and his wife, Laura, Jeffrey and his wife, Kathleen, Matthew, and a daughter, Jennifer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jake, Taylor, McKinley, Travis, Jesse and Jenna.
