Increased Police Presence In Mendham Over TikTok Threat Challenge
Mendham Borough and Township Police Departments upped the number of police at all schools on Friday though there was "no credible threat."
MENDHAM, NJ — Though Mendham Township’s Police Department says there is “no credible threat” in New Jersey, Morris County or any schools in their district, they plan to have more officers at the township’s school on Friday, in response to a TikTok challenge.
Schools throughout the country have been on high alert over the TikTok challenge that suggests students “threaten gun violence at their schools on Friday, Dec. 17," according to a Patch report.

"The safety of our children is our priority and anyone who threatens that safety of our children will face serious consequences and force objectively reasonable, necessary and proportional to safely achieve the legitimate law enforcement objective under the circumstances," Mendham Borough Police wrote.
