Mendham resident honored by The Boy Scounts of America
Thomas Baio of Mendham Twp. NJ was honored on September 12, 2019 as a 2019 Distinguished citizen of the year by the Boy Scouts of America.

Thomas Baio of North Gate Road in Mendham NJ was honored by Patriot Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America on September 12, 2019 as a 2019 Distinguished Citizen of the year. The event was hosted at Canoe Brook Country Club. Thomas Baio is a husband, father of 3 children, and practicing Architect. He holds Architectural licenses in 5 states and has seen the design and development of nearly 3000 structures.
He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree (NYIT 87’) & Certificates in Architecture from the University of Venice, Venice Italy (1985) and Harvard Graduate school of Design, Cambridge Ma. (2001). During his formative years he interned with some of the most influential architects & designers of the 20th century. They include Alberto Sartoris in Lausanne Switzerland, Livio Dimitriu of Budapest Hungry at his NY Studio, Massimo Vignelli of Milan Italy at his NY Offices and Hardy Holzman & Pfeiffer of NY.
Thomas began his practice in 1991 and his work has been the subject of 4 hard cover books, numerous design magazines, television appearances, publication interviews, and he has spoken on Architecture as visiting critic at Pratt University, and before college bound students at the John’s Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. He has mentored over 100 past & current employees many of whom have gone on to open their own practices. He has served as trustee, officer, President and past president of the Millburn & Short Hills Historic Society and is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and The National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Thomas is a current candidate for public office running for a vacating seat on the Mendham Township Committee.
