Mendham Student-Athlete Honored by State, Given College Scholarship

A Mendham High School student-athlete was honored recently by the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association, bringing home a college scholarship.

Joe Beneducci received a $1,000 scholarship from Wilson Sporting Goods during a ceremony held by the statewide organization, and was among 29 student-athletes in Morris County to be recognized.

Beneducci was a major part of the Mendham Minutemen football team's historic run to the state championship game in 2013. He graduated Friday, June 20.

Only 16 received scholarships, which were drawn at random. A total of $11,500 was awarded.
