Mendham Students Awarded At Morris County Teen Arts Festival
Three middle school students were recognized at the event and will advance to the State Teen Arts Festival.
MENDHAM BOROUGH, NJ — Several student artists from Mountain View Middle School were recognized for their work at the Morris County Teen Arts Festival, held May 15 at the County College of Morris.
Among the students honored, eighth-grader Carson I. earned third place in the 2D category for his drawing. Sophia F. received an honorable mention in the 3D category for her ceramic sculpture, and seventh-grader Max G. earned an honorable mention in the 2D category for his linocut print.
The Morris County Teen Arts Festival celebrates student achievement in the visual and performing arts. According to the announcement, the event gives young artists a chance to share their work, receive feedback from professionals and be recognized for their talents.

The recognition means all three Mountain View Middle School students will have their artwork exhibited at the State Teen Arts Festival at Middlesex College. The state festival appearance follows their honors at the county event and gives the students another opportunity to showcase their work beyond Morris County.
“We are incredibly proud of Carson, Sophia, and Max for earning recognition among such a talented group of young artists from across Morris County,” said Principal Aimee Toth. “We congratulate them on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to seeing their work showcased at the State Teen Arts Festival.”

With their county awards now in place, Carson, Sophia, and Max are set to have their artwork displayed at the State Teen Arts Festival at Middlesex College.
