Mendham Teachers Granted Funds for S.T.E.M. Work

One-third of state's recipients are educators in Mendham High School and Mountain View Elementary School.

Two Mendham High School and one Mountain View Elementary School teachers were awarded grants from FirstEnergy recently for their work in the arena of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, often referred to as STEM.

Denise Magrini of Mountain View was presented a check from JCP&L, a company owned by FirstEnergy for her work in the sciences. Andrew Palmer and Melanie Chernoff represented the high school.

Palmer and Chernoff received their grant for their “Visualizing the Simplicity of Circuits” project.

The three local educators made up one third of the total – nine – teachers in New Jersey who received the grants.
