Mendham Teen Named Among Best Musicians in Morris County
May recipients nominated for outstanding string player or orchestra member.

Talk about going out on top.
Patrick Martin, an eighth grader at Mountain View Middle School, is ending his school year on a high note, being named among Morris County’s top musicians for the month of May by the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
The category for the month is Outstanding String Player or Orchestra Member.

Martin was nominated by his teacher William Alzaher, who said:
“Patrick has been playing violin for 8 years and is a very dedicated member of our orchestra. He an 8th grader who plays in our school orchestra and chamber orchestra. He’s done numerous solos and duets within our orchestra, in collaboration with our choirs, and this year, at our district strings concert. He has performed at our school talent show and studies violin privately. Patrick also participates in Brookside orchestra each summer and is arranging a piece himself for cello and violin to perform at our spring concert.”

Martin and his counterparts from around the county were recognized on the Mayo PAC stage last week.
