Mendham Township Cops No Longer on Shaky Ground
Resident donates a new flooring in Mendham Township Police Headquarters.
The Mendham Township Police Department has been outfitted with a new floor, courtesy of a generous benefactor.
But hopefully, residents won't be arrested and have the opportunity to see it.
Mendham's Randy Lee, owner of Surface Works, donated the time, materials and manpower to redo the lobby, the hallways and the offices of the Mendham Township Headquarters.

And for those who work there, the difference is night and day. LouAnne Finlay and Candace Alderton who work in the front office said that Lee's staff was wonderful.
"They worked so fast and did a great job. We really appreciate what they did for us," Aldterton said.

Detective Daniel Taquinto said that Lee made the offer to refurbish the department after a discussion about the condition of the flooring, having gone through significant wear and tear over the years, and followed through quickly.
"His guys donated their time and they knocked the work out in a couple of days," Taquinto said.
According to Taquinto, four or five guys worked for two straight days removing old layers of flooring, leveling and installing new tile and carpet.
"They even helped us move all the furniture back in when they were done," Taquinto said.
And with any luck, residents will be able to admire the handiwork for themselves, but from the lobby only.
