Mendham Township Schools 'Close' To Fall 2020 Plan

MENDHAM, NJ - With so much uncertainty around the opening of school districts for in-person instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mendham Township Superintendent Sal Constantino said that his district is "close" to having a plan worked out.

"Our district is committed to following the guidance provided by the state while ensuring that our school is a safe learning environment for all of our students, teachers, and staff," Constantino said in a letter to parents. "We have an outstanding group of teachers, administrators, and board members working on plans for the re-opening of school. We will continue to utilize the guidance provided by the state, local, and national health organizations as we create our plan for the fall of 2020."

Constantino also noted that while the plan takes time to develop, he realizes that
families need to know plans sooner rather than later.

"We will work tirelessly over the next few weeks to create and share a plan that is flexible and informative for our school community," Constantino said. "The guidance from the state is that we submit a finalized plan to the NJDOE and our families at least four weeks prior to the start of school in an effort to provide our parents and families plenty of time to plan for revised schedules, if and when necessary."

Constantino said Mendham Township will have a plan ready well in advance of that deadline.

"I will continue to keep you informed and updated regularly as new information becomes available," he said.
