Mendies Spotlight: Honoring The Helms, Consummate Volunteers

Volunteers help make small towns become great places to live.

In the Mendhams, Mary and Howard Helms are the true definition of volunteerism.

That’s why the married couple will be honored at the 8th Annual Mendies Awards on April 10, and inducted into the hall of fame.

The couple has been active in the Boy Scouts, League of Women Voters, Brookside Community Church, and tutoring local high school students.

Tickets for the Mendies are $50 until April 1, and $60 thereafter including at the door, if any remain. The event is being held at the Sisters of Christian Charity.

The event is sponsored by Mendham TV and will feature a Red Carpet walk, reception, awards ceremony, buffet dinner, adult beverages, and music throughout the evening.
