Mercedes-Benz Headquarters Pulling Out of Montvale, Parking in Georgia
New Jersey location will begin transporting jobs south in summer of 2015.

The United States headquarters of one of the world’s globally recognized brands, located in Montvale, is moving its operations south.
According to northjersey.com, Mercedes-Benz is moving its headquarters to Atlanta, Georgia, after lengthy talks with Governor Chris Christie and state economic development officials to find ways to alleviate tax pressures.
Mercedes has a port in Brunswick, Georgia, and a manufacturing facility in Alabama responsible for making half the country’s supply of vehicles, the report said.

The move south will begin in the summer, and the Atlanta headquarters will have fewer workers with a total of 800 jobs, the report said.
Mercedes won’t be completely lost from the Garden State, however, as it plans to occupy its Montvale space with a new training center and operations in Robbinsville, Mercer County, the report said.

The Montvale campus has three buildings across 37 acres, employing about 1,000 workers, the report said.
