Minutemen Football Set for Playoff Opener Friday

Mendham enters playoffs as No. 6 seed in sectional bracket.

In the first season under the second Bill Carpluk era, the Mendham Minutemen football team has made plenty of improvements, and are now in the hunt for a coveted sectional title.

Mendham received the No. 6 seed in the North 2, Group 4 NJSIAA state sectional playoffs out of an eight-team bracket, and will head to Colonia on Friday, Nov. 15 for the opening round tilt, according to nj.com.

The Minutemen ended the season with an offensive outburst against Montville, racking up a 39-21 win against the 1-8 Mustangs, nj.com reported. Mendham ended the season with an even 4-4-1 record. 

With a win in the playoff game, Mendham would face the winner of West Morris Central vs. Morristown on Nov. 22. The Minutemen lost to both teams during the regular season by seven and three points, respectively.

This is the first time this season Mendham will play Colonia. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
