Minutemen Soccer Star Named Best in Morris County

One of Mendham High School’s soccer players is leaving behind quite an athletic legacy this season.

Gavin Coutts, one of the school’s boys soccer team seniors, has been named the All-Daily Record Boys Soccer Player of the Year, the newspaper’s website reported. 

Coutts spent most of his childhood toggling between football and soccer each fall until finally settling on the later for his final two years of high school, the report said.

The Chester resident has verbally committed to Washington & Lee University, where he plans to continue his soccer career in 2014. Coutts plans to enroll in the University’s School of Commerce.
