Mobile Museum, Open House, Cop Chopper to Highlight Annual Chester Day

Free event to be held May 2 at 50 North Road.

The borough of Chester is proud of its community and is inviting residents to take part in the annual Chester Day.

The event will be held at the municipal building, 50 North Road, on May 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and offer residents the opportunity to see the police headquarters, displays of equipment from the Department of Public Works, the Chester Volunteer Fire Company, and the Chester First Aid Squad, as well as the Borough Office of Emergency Management.

On top of that, the New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum will be open for tours, featuring images, artifacts, film, and interactive tools about New Jersey. The mobile museum is a 53-foot trailer that transforms into an 850-square-foot exhibition space.

Activities won’t stop there, however, as the Morris County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit will conduct a demonstration at noon and again at 2 p.m., and a New Jersey State Police helicopter will arrive on scene at 1 p.m., weather pending.

Last but not least, Chester’s Shade Tree Commission and Garden Club will hold its annual Arbor Day celebration and tree dedication and commemorate the borough’s 30th anniversary of designation by Tree City USA.
