Morris County Chinese Restaurant Named Best In State Again

DENVILLE, NJ — Locals have known this for a long time and for the second time, a national website agrees: Hunan Taste is a great Chinese restaurant. The Daily Meal has named it New Jersey's best Chinese restaurant for the second year in a row.

Here's what the Daily Meal had to say:

This upscale Chinese restaurant is ornately decorated and a great place for a night out, and has been pulling in the crowds since it was first opened by the Hsiung family in 1986. Popular favorites include soup dumplings, steamed or fried whole fish, Peking duck, Mandarin pork chop, and sizzling filet mignon.

Looking for something more traditional? They also serve dishes like beef tendon and tripe in hot Szechuan pepper sauce or bang bang chicken.

Don't just take the Daily Meal's word for it. The restaurant has four stars on Yelp, and great reviews:

• "Food - 5/5. The fried wonton strips are crispy with a clean taste that doesn't have that strong oil taste. The duck sauce and mustard give good flavor variety as dips. The shaomai and har gow had a dense texture giving you a meaty bite that was juicy."
• "Charming place with impressive authentic design. Plenty of seating. The food was good and the price reasonable. In the afternoon there are special offers in the area of 10-15 dollars in total."
• "Incredible food. Authentic Chinese vibe around the restaurant with great service. The general Tso shrimp was delicious. Their soups are also fresh and yummy."
