Mountain View Student Receives Countywide Music Recognition

Zachary Davis named Music Student of the Month by performing arts center.

Zachary Davis’s final year at Mountain View Middle School has gotten off to a great start, and he’s now being recognized for his musical prowess.

The eighth-grader and Mendham resident was named to the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Music Students of the Month for October, joining eight other musicians from Morris County.

Davis was nominated by his teacher, Leigh Carpenter, who said, “Zach has played drums since the 5th grade. Normally, band starts at Mountain View MS in 4th grade, but due to budget cuts, the 4th Grade Band was eliminated. Despite this fact, Zachary has worked hard and risen to a high level of musicianship in an even shorter amount of time. In addition to Zach’s talent, his enthusiasm and drive are what make him an exemplary musician.”
