New Life-Saving Devices Installed In Chester Parks

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — New life-saving equipment has been installed at three Chester Township parks, giving visitors quicker access to defibrillators during cardiac emergencies.

The township recently installed eight Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs, across Chubb Park, Black River Park and Highlands Ridge Park.

AEDs are portable devices designed to help someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. The devices can be used by members of the public and provide step-by-step voice instructions, even for people without prior CPR training, township officials said.

Each device is housed in a clearly marked, alarmed cabinet.

Three AEDs were installed at Chubb Park. They are located near the path to the pond, along the park driveway across from the football fields and near the pickleball courts.

Black River Park also received three units. Two are located along the trees running through the middle of the parking lot, one near the front and another near the back, while a third is positioned along the turn in the back of the park, officials said.

Two AEDs were installed at Highlands Ridge Park, including one near the entrance to the Barn and another at the end of the parking lot off North Road.

Township officials said the installations are intended to give park users and visitors quick access to potentially life-saving equipment during an emergency.
