Chester Choses New Bragg School Principal

Michele Stanton, dean of students and supervisor of instruction, to replace Dan Johnson.

After a quick process of whittling down 25 applicants to five candidates to interview, the moved to as the to replace, who is .

Stanton has worn several hats in her tenure at Black River. Dean of Students, Anti-Bullying Coordinator, Vice-Principal and Supervisor of Instruction. And it was that varied level of experience that helped secure Stanton the coveted role at Bragg.

A long-time fixture in the district, Stanton began her career as a math teacher in Bragg in 1989 and Chester Superintendent Christina VanWoert congratulated Stanton on a "well-deserved homecoming."

For her part, the feeling of coming home resonated with Stanton.

"I am honored to have this opportunity to go back to Bragg School. It is home," Stanton said.  "I can't wait continue all of the things that Dr. Johnson started and to start some new things to help the students and the staff grow."
