NJ Weather: Snow Causing Traffic Crashes, Speed Restrictions, School Changes
The snow finally got here, and it's having an impact, causing speed restrictions, accidents and changes in school schedules. Find out where.

People woke up today and probably thought the weather forecast was a whole lot of nothing. But the snow finally got here, and it's having an impact.
While a lot of the snow still isn't sticking in some areas, it's causing state and local officials to impose speed restrictions, drivers to spin out in accidents and school officials to change their schedules.
The next question is whether some school districts - particularly in North Jersey - that didn't cancel school may call for early dismissals.

The National Weather Service has held fast to its predictions, even expanding the areas that are under a winter-weather advisory. The alert is in effect until 2 p.m. for all of North and Central Jersey, as well as Ocean, Mercer, Camden, Burlington and Monmouth County.

The weather system is supposed to hold steady into the early afternoon, and ice could form as the temperature drops, and winds pick in certain areas.

Here are the impacts on roads:
- Garden State Parkway: Speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from Exit 30 - NJ 52/Laurel Drive in Somers Point to New York state line in Montvale; 45 mph for salting operations.
- New Jersey Turnpike: Speed restriction on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from Delaware Memorial Bridge in Pennsville Twp to George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee; 45 miles per hour, for salting operations.
- Ben Franklin Bridge: Speed restriction on the Ben Franklin Bridge in both directions between New Jersey side in Camden and Pennsylvania side in Philadelphia; 35 miles per hour.
- U.S. 1&9: Overturned tractor trailer on US 1&9 local and express roadways southbound north of I-78 in Newark. One lane may be closed.
- Holland Tunnel: Accident with Injuries at the Holland Tunnel westbound west of New Jersey side - north tube in Jersey City/14th Street; subject to closure at Jersey Avenue.
- Garden State Parkway: Accident on the Garden State Parkway local lanes northbound Exit 105 - NJ 36 in Tinton Falls. Left lane blocked.
- Garden State Parkway: Accident on the Garden State Parkway local lanes southbound north of Exit 105 - NJ 36 in Tinton Falls. Left and center lanes blocked.
- I-80: Accident on I-80 westbound west of Exit 28 - CR 631/US 46 in Roxbury Twp. Left lane closed.
- Garden State Parkway: Delays on the Garden State Parkway southbound in the vicinity of Exit 130B-A - US 1 in Woodbridge Twp 1/2 mile delay, due to volume.
