Officials Monitoring 3rd Nor'easter Heading Morris Co.'s Way

Morris County officials are monitoring a storm heading the county's way. This will be the third nor'easter in just ten days.

MORRIS — Spring might be right around the corner, but winter is leaving with a bang: a third nor'easter in ten days is approaching Morris County. Officials say they're monitoring the storm, and it doesn't look as bad as the first two.

A coastal storm is expected to begin in the county Monday night and continue into Tuesday. The forecast is currently showing ran with wet snow Monday night, and light snow Tuesday morning. Temperatures will hover around 32 degrees, so lower elevation towns might not get any plowable snow. Overall, towns can expect a few inches of snow.

Officials remain in contact with JCP&L after the other two storms knocked out power to 55,000 residents, some of whom remain in the dark. The majority of homes have seen power restored, but 1,821 are still waiting.

Long Hill, Chatham Twp, Harding TWP, Morris, and Parsippany still have over 100 residents without power, while 17 other towns have a scattering of outages. JCP&L says power should be restored by Wednesday night at the latest.
