Police Warn Residents To Lock Up Valuables After $5K Theft
More than $5,000 worth of jewelry and collectable coins was stolen recently from a home in Mendham Borough, police say.

The Mendham Borough Police Department announced Monday it is investigating the theft of more than $5,000 worth of jewelry and collectable coins from a home on Gunther Street.
According to information from police, the items were left unsecured in a closet and there were multiple contractors working on the home at the time of the theft.
"The Police Department is advising their residents to keep all valuables locked in a secure location at all times. Attempt to have safes bolted to the ground or a wall so that they cannot be easily removed. Also, keep an eye on your contractors as they work in your home," police said in an announcement.
