Preserved Walnut Brook Farm in Mendham Twp. Heads to Auction

One of the largest single pieces of property in Mendham Township, spanning 62 acres, is hitting the auction block in October and the highest bidder will be obtaining a piece of history.

According to dailyrecord.com, Walnut Brook Farm, which includes a four bedroom home, woods, ponds, streams, and a barn to process maple syrup, is preserved farmland and up for sale. The property was originally listed at $1.9 million but did not sell, the report said.

Despite the preserved designation, which limits development, the new landowner would have the ability to construct a new home on the property if he or she chose to do so, the report said.

A tour of the property will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 2, with the auction set for 11 a.m. on Oct. 17, the report said. Walnut Brook Farm is located at 2 Mount Paul Road in Mendham Township.
