Regional High Schools Closed Monday – Again
Power outages, impassable roads to blame, top administrator says.

For the sixth consecutive weekday, both the West Morris Regional High School District will be closed due to the lack of electricity and passable roads in the area of both schools.
"Although conditions are improving, the majority of residents still do not have power and many major roads are impassable," Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast said. "Additionally, increased vehicle traffic will significantly impede the repair effort to our power infrastructure, further complicating residents’ lives in our towns. Conditions are still unsafe, especially with an increase in the volume of traffic."
Per the district's calendar, school was not to be in session Thursday and Friday, Nov. 8 and 9 because of the annual New Jersey Education Association convention in Atlantic City.

The district announced Sunday that if conditions allowed for schools to be open those days, classes would in fact be held.
"Conditions continue to improve and I am hopeful that we will be back in school this week," Pendergrast said.
