Renowned Insurance Educator, Mendham Resident Succumbs to Cancer at 79

Frank Rainaldi was a marathon runner and avid sports fan.

To say Frank Rainaldi was an accomplished man in his career would be a vast understatement.

The Mendham resident, author, and accomplished insurance educator died last week in his Mendham home after a battle with cancer. He was 79.

Rainaldi was one of the leading educators in the insurance industry and not only a graduate of the University of Connecticut, but a member of its School of Business Hall of Fame.

Rainaldi was the first insurance professional to be elected into the Hall of Fame of National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, and was a member of the John Hancock Hall of Fame.

He is a former trustee of the American College, and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Rainaldi’s career began in Waterbury, Connecticut as an insurance salesman and later became the Director of Education for John Hancock in Boston.

From there Rainaldi was appointed President of a subsidiary where he served as a general agent for 20 years.

The insurance man published The Kugler System, used by financial planners at insurance and investment companies.

In his personal life, Rainaldi was a marathon runner and fitness enthusiast, and attended five Olympics.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of 55 years; three children and their spouses; and five grandchildren.
