Ruth Crammer, Lifelong Mendham Resident, Dies at 102

Centenarian was a charter member of the Mendham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Ruth Crammer was alive when the Titanic sunk, America sent a man to the moon, and for Mendham’s 2013 Labor Day Parade.

The lifelong Mendham Borough resident died peacefully on Oct. 21 at Holly Manor in Mendham at the age of 102, according to her obituary on baileyfunralhomes.com.

Crammer was born in Mendham on June 23, 1911, and was a longtime member of Hilltop Presbyterian Church, along with being its oldest living member, the obituary said.

The centenarian was not idle during her time, serving as a charter member of the Mendham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Mendham Senior Citizens and the Stanhope Order of the Eastern Star.

Crammer has two sons, a daughter, 10 grandchildren and 22 grandchildren, the obituary said.
