St. Joseph's Volleyball Teams Sweep Competition For 2014 Titles
Junior varsity, varsity squads spike opponents, earn crowns in GIL league.

One championship is great. Two is nothing less than amazing.
That’s exactly what St. Joseph School in Mendham accomplished this weekend, when its junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams competed in the GIL League championships.
Coming in to the tournament with the No. 4 seed, the junior varsity team faced off against the top-seeded Irvington in the semifinals. St. Joseph did away with its opponent handily, winning the match 2-0. Next up, in the title round, was Academy of Our Lady of Peace from New Providence. St. Joseph’s did the same there, winning two games to none and capturing the 2014 Junior Varsity Championship.

The varsity squad entered the competition as the top-seeded team, and wouldn’t let anyone take that from them.
St. Joseph’s disposed of Verona in the semifinals, and did the same against No. 3 seed Irvington in the finals. Both matches were won 2-0. The title run capped a 16-0 season and varsity championship.
