St. Mark's in Mendham Welcomes New Pastor
Fr. Shawn Carty takes over as rector of Episcopalian congregation.

It may be a new face, but it’s the same message at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Mendham.
The congregation recently welcomed the church’s new leader and pastor, Reverend Shawn Carty as rector of the parish.
The event was well attended, including a presiding over the service by Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith of Episcopal Bishop of Newark, and guest preacher Rev. Mary E. Davis, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chatham.

“St. Mark’s is such a warm and welcoming congregation with young and old and everyone in between,” Fr. Carty said in a statement. “I’m delighted to serve here and I’m looking forward to what new chapter God has in store for St. Mark’s.”
Carty and his family moved to Mendham in April from Idaho where he was rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Carty received his Master of Divinity from the Theological School at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
