Summer Concerts Series Kicks Off This Month In Chester

The summer concert series will begin on June 30 at the Municipal Field, with five shows already planned.

CHESTER, NJ — The Municipal Field in historic Chester will be filled with the sound of music once again as the annual Summer Concerts Series returns on June 30.

According to Chester Township officials, the concert series is free to the public and will take place on Thursdays at 7 p.m. When attending a performance, residents are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Here is the list of concert performances planned this summer in Chester:

  • June 30, Asbury Fever: The ultimate party band in New Jersey, celebrating the music of Bruce Springsteen, The E Street Band, and other classic rock bands from the 1970s and 1980s.
  • July 7, Monkey Shoulder: Monkey Shoulder is a rock band that plays a mix of old school rock, blues, and other crowd favorites that will make you want to dance.
  • July 14, New Moon Rising: New Moon Rising is a seven-piece rock/country/pop band that combines traditional instrumentation (guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums) with unconventional elements such as beatboxing, banjo, electronic percussion and harmonica.
  • July 21, Alternative Groove: Alternative Groove is a New Jersey party band, featuring a three-piece horn section.
  • July 28, Diamonds In Jupiter: Diamonds In Jupiter is a ten-piece pop, R&B, funk, dance party band featuring two dynamic vocalists, a female drummer and keys.

Chester Township and Chester Borough, in collaboration with the Chester Municipal Alliance, co-sponsor the Chester Summer Concert Series, which takes place at Municipal Field, 134 Main Street.

"All you need is your favorite lawn chair, your love of the arts, and some take-out from one of our local restaurants. See you there," township officials said.
