Tax Increase In Approved West Morris Regional School District Budget
The school district's budget for the 2022-2023 school year totals $60,852,090 which is a $161,936 increase from the previous year.
MENDHAM, CHESTER, NJ — Taxes will go up for the average West Morris Regional High School District taxpayer in the 2022-2023 school year now that the school district's budget for that academic session was passed, a school official said.
The amount is based on the average assessed value of homes in each township and borough. The figures are listed below:
- Chester Borough: $90.95
- Chester Township: $49.41
- Mendham Borough: $49.91
- Mendham Township: $33.86
- Washington Township: $37.30
The school district's general fund for the 2022-2023 school year totals $60,852,090 which is a 0.27 percent increase from the previous year.

Gov. Phil Murphy's administration announced the budget for state aid to all municipalities earlier this year. The West Morris Regional High School District received a $302,102 reduction in state aid.
