Dear Black River Middle School Students, Staff, and Chester Community,
On Friday, May 25 during my sixth period ILA class, my life changed suddenly. I received a phone call that shortly before noon, my dear mother had passed away. I was devastated by the news and saddened to think that I would no longer be caring for her every day. Getting her ready to begin her day with a nice breakfast would no longer be necessary. Hearing her wish me well as I left for school would no longer occur. Returning home to find Mom struggling through the pain but always trying to manage it had lifted my spirits when they might be a bit low. Now, memory would replace reality.

Because of my closeness with my mom, my BRMS family knew that I would have a great deal of sorrow in my heart as I would attempt to deal with her loss. With swiftness, my BRMS family took decisive action meant to help me with my burden. I received phone calls, cards, and text messages from many who have keep my mother in their prayers during her struggles with her health. At the viewing, I was embraced by the warmth and kindness that only a loving family is able to show. Upon my return to my classroom, I was met with a plethora of sympathy cards, condolences, and a caring that has always defined the heart and soul of my BRMS family.
As each day passes, the ache in my heart begins to dissipate slightly. Nonetheless, I continue to miss my dear mother a great deal. I face each day knowing that she will not be an integral part of my daily routine. Yet, I hold the memory of my dear mother close to my heart. Knowing that my pain continues to exist, my BRMS family has showered me with sympathy, best wishes, offers of time and help, and a genuine concern that has assisted me greatly during this most difficult time.
