Title Hopes Alive for 3 Minutemen Teams in Morris Tourney
Boys soccer, field hockey, and volleyball all advance over the weekend.

Three of Mendham High School’s fall sports teams are eyeing Morris County Tournament titles as October wears on, thanks to an impressive weekend of wins.
The Minutemen boys soccer team took on Madison Sunday in the quarterfinals of the annual county-wide tournament, and were led by Leonardo Canino and James Petriello with two goals apiece as the team advanced with a 5-1 win.
Mendham will face off against Randolph in the tournament’s semifinal round.

Another MCT quarterfinal winner was the girls field hockey team, which narrowly got past Morristown-Beard by a score of 2-1 on Sunday. Both goals were scored by Elizabeth Tolley to fuel the win and advancement to the semifinals.
One of Mendham’s teams took the final step toward a championship in impressive fashion, as the girls volleyball team beat Madison in straight sets Saturday.

Top-seeded Mendham will serve against Montville for the tournament title on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Roxbury High School against Montville, which ousted Morristown in its semifinal game.
Mendham and Montville are ranked 16 and 17, respectively, in the Star-Leder’s top-20 teams in New Jersey.
