Title Town: Black River Middle School Wins County Baseball Championship

Sixteen Chester boys are kicking off their summer with huge smiles on their faces and trophies in their hands.

The Black River Middle School baseball team romped its way through Morris County, taking down Pequannock in the Group 3 Morris County Middle School tournament en route to a championship.

Black River jumped out early with a 4-1 lead in the title game and added three more runs as the innings wore on, holding off Pequannock’s three-run day with room to spare.

The team ended the season 12-3 and, of course, as champions.
