Volunteers Sought For Mendham First Aid Squad
The Mendham First Aid Rescue Squad is looking for people who want to help on the borough's first aid squad.
MENDHAM, NJ — Have you ever wanted to help your neighbors during an emergency? Are you looking for a volunteering opportunity?
The Mendham First Aid Squad is looking for people to join. The squad, staffed entirely by volunteers, provides emergency pre-hospital care to residents and visitors of Mendham Borough and, through mutual aid agreements, to residents of Mendham Township, the Chesters and Randolph Township.
"When a resident of Mendham Borough calls 9-1-1 for a medical emergency, we are the ones who respond," the squad said.

The First Aid Squad helps residents with basic medical services and provides ambulance transportation to area hospitals.
In addition to pre-hospital care and emergency transport, the squad supports a wide range of local community organizations and events, such as:

- Rehab support for training exercises by the local fire department, including Mendhams' 12th Night Bonfire Celebration.
- Standby support at local football games and several local 5K races, including the Harvest Hustle, Relay for Life and similar events.
- Assisting local scout troops in attaining merit badges with first aid awareness and training programs.
The Mendham First Aid Squad welcomes individuals without prior experience, providing training and equipment.
All squad members are required to complete various online courses about working under the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) organizational structures. Once accepted for membership, volunteers will receive more information about these courses.
Other courses, such as those addressing personal safety and protection from blood-borne diseases, may also be necessary and can be completed through online or in-person training provided as part of regular squad operations.
After being accepted for membership, the Mendham First Aid Squad will reimburse all members for acceptable training expenditures, including the initial American Heart Association (AHA) CPR for Health Care Providers training.
Drivers who complete the Coaching for Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) class will receive a similar reimbursement, officials said.
