WEATHER UPDATE: Hour-By-Hour Forecast As New Jersey Snowstorm Hits

The National Weather Service is now saying that as much as 3 to 5 inches of snow will blanket almost all of New Jersey on Friday, with the first flakes falling during this morning.

Already, a 45-mph speed restriction has been imposed on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from the Delaware Memorial Bridge to south of Interchange 7A (I-195).

The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying a heavy, wet snow is expected to continue through much of the day and it should mix with sleet and rain during the afternoon.

Temperatures will generally be 25 to 30 degrees in the early morning, rising into the middle 30s in the afternoon. Hazardous travel conditions will develop during the morning commute and they may continue through part of the day.
