What Is TRX Suspension Training?

TRX suspension training was invented by a Navy Seal who wanted to devise a simple, comprehensive piece of exercise equipment that he could take anywhere even under the most primitive conditions. Since its inception it has undergone a  tremendous amount of creative innovation as an exercise system. Today it is truly the cutting edge in fun, safe and functional workouts.

TRX is a total body conditioning system. Resistance is supplied by body weight and can be easily and safely set by adjusting the angle of the body. While it increases body tone and strength it also develops tremendous core stability and core strength. Some of the exercises are like  traditional strengthening  exercises while others are functional in nature: they  duplicate the movement patterns of sports skills and the movement patterns of daily activities.

Besides developing muscular strength and endurance, some TRX exercises are plyometric and produce explosiveness and speed. This makes TRX particularly beneficial for  athletes and weekend warriors although it is unparalleled as a general conditioning system. Classes at MH&RC are multi level and Fitness members of all ages can participate.
