W-I-N! Mendham Student Heads to State Spelling Bee Competition

John Lorenzini has out-spelled more than 60 other peers to reach state-wide tournament.

When the New Jersey State Spelling Bee at Rutgers University begins this weekend, Mendham will be well represented.

That’s because John Lorenzini, a fifth-grader at Mountain View Middle School, has out-spelled 60 other students both locally and regionally to earn a spot in the state-wide event on March 8.

Top finishers there will have the opportunity to compete on the national stage in Washington, D.C. in the annual Scripps Spelling Bee competition.
